     @coolboymew @Sophistifunk It’s the same dynamic as with YouTubers, Hollywood Actors, etc.

     Average people are presented with these guys, who represent the peak of success with their wealth and fame and influence, and aspire to be them. What they aren’t aware of when they embark on this goal, is how many other people have the exact same fucking goal that they are competing with.

     And they also don’t realize that the people that win at this game aren’t the ones that “try the hardest”, but the ones that recognize the metagame. With Hollywood, it’s having the right connections. With YouTube, it’s understanding the algorithm, but even that doesn’t guarantee you success.

     I read a post the other day where someone claimed to be making good money running several accounts that were just reposts of other women on the site with a bit of effort put into grooming fans for those juicy parasocial donations. Basically middlemanning the models without their knowledge, even down to private commissions.
