   $660M crypto money to “save humanity from the existential risk of AI.” Same people wrote a few years ago how “without AI we are doomed.” Selling utopia and apocalypse for billions. No one knows how to circle money amongst themselves like these people.

     @timnitGebru I remember speaking at an NGI event, I think it was in Rome, where the UN guy gave a speech where he literally said “today’s challenges are so complex, we should let the technology companies handle them.” Went up to him afterwards and told him Eric Schmidt could have given his talk. He took it as a compliment. (“Oh, I love him!” “Really? Because he scares the shit out of me.”) That’s when I realised just how neoliberal an establishment the UN is.
