     @Hyolobrika @cjd @thatguyoverthere kind of just looks like the author is arguing to retvrn to the 1800s, which is probably similar to what i've said for a long time :neocat_woozy:
     
     there were some fedi folk talking very briefly about wanting more independent ways to circulate and review papers. i don't know that anything came of it. i did suggest MISP at one point--which is meant for infosec, but its the closest we kinda have for doing limited group dissemination and auditing--but never heard anything.
