Based on my replies, it seems some Germans weren’t happy with just one genocide so now they’re supporting another.
I guess it must be a hard habit to break.

@aral it’s amazing how many German folks show up in my mentions to defend what Israel is doing to Palestine.
@cferdinandi Yep, it’s almost like some of them haven’t learned a damn thing.
@Fluse @cferdinandi Last I checked, the word *some* still had meaning. *Some*, as in the ones who are in my mentions, telling me I’m antisemitic, that I should visit Auschwitz, that I can go get fucked, etc. So, in case there is still any doubt, *those* Germans.
Can the two of you please not turn this into a "Germans must still like Holocausts" thing? People in Germany are heterogeneous when it comes to opinions, like everywhere else.
You know this, and you are usually the ones calling out people for making these kinds of statements.
We have way too many inflammatory voices that put whole nations and peoples into drawers as it is. Please, please don't join them.
@Fluse Fair enough, I had just been told to go visit Auschwitz and fuck myself so that might explain why it’s biting.
But, hey, just had a German guy libel me as antisemitic and a Holocaust denier so the message I got this morning doesn’t seem as bad now. I guess you have to look on the bright side.
I was referring more to the "hard habit to break" part, and what that may imply about both those who are part of the *some*, and those who aren't.
I hope you can see where my comment is coming from, and that I'm not responding to you with ill intent. Just with the plea to maybe revisit your words, and consider the spaces in between from a different angle.
Even if this doesn't change your perspective, thank you for at least taking the time.
@aral @cferdinandi
As someone from family which had members in the Nazi party, I find a lot of the Netanyahu regime's rhetoric, policy, and claims of racial-hegemony extremely disturbing: never forget that Germany was the first country the Nazis took over, our entire economy converted to a killing machine, and what we took part in "for the good of all German people" is something we still live with the collective shame and trauma of.
I'm also disturbed by the rampant shouting-over of all the Jewish people who are also concerned about what's being done to the Palestinians. Every day, I see someone post a story about a holocaust survivor being horrified by the level of violence being thrown at a civilian population on an ethnic basis, yet we still see the narrative of the Israeli government, that they are doing this for "all Jews", and that "all Jews" support this violence, pushed into the mainstream, when all of the Jewish people I know offline are openly appalled by it.
