   It's actually strange that nobody talks about the effects of aging boomer eyes on all these high-dollar things. I notice it's very hard to get them on board with improved technology past small 15" 1080P monitors when they have an IFE kit in their fancy private jet. By anyone's standards, tiny little 2010 LCD panels suck ass, but these guys will look at it and say "nah it's fine, that's great!"

     Really irritating, seems like every place I go that's owned by an older couple is drowning in tiny - recently purchased - 720/1080 TVs. A while back I was at a neighbors place, they sit about 20 feet from a 24" 1080 TV. I realized it was the 5th or so time I've seen that in a boomer house in recent memory. It's like they haven't even considered getting bigger TV's.

     That wouldn't be bad, if they didn't watch so much damn tv. It's the centerpiece of their free hours though. THey still dutifully tune in to prime time network slop every night, ingesting 5 hours of ugly, misshapen freaks as they wonder "what happened to all the NORMAL people?" (only to be chided by their wife for their "kinda racist thing to say)

     @Twoinchdestroya This is a diff. boomer subset, more down to earth, blue collar. Think guys who dropped out of school but inadvertantly started a roofing company they sold for 10 million before the bubble popped. Wealthy, but they don't really notice

     @TeaTootler @DemonSixOne That's big enough, at least. Doesn't look bad from a distance, it's the combination of people watching super low res stuff AND having it tiny that bugs me.

     "I'm not springing for some forty inch television" one said, but he SOMEHOW found a 20" 1080 tv for almost $400....and that's about as much as what my last cheesy panel cost at 55".

     @DemonSixOne @WashedOutGundamPilot I’ve had the same 50” 720p plasma since about 2010 and it cost almost $500 so I’m keeping that until it dies

     @WashedOutGundamPilot It would be close to the experience that most young boomers/gen X grew up with, complete with being constantly chided about not sitting too close to the TV. So it makes sense for these people for who entertainment preferences froze somewhere in the late 80s/early 90s to have small standard def televisions.
