@PurpCat@dcc@allison@SAKURARadiochan >tobacco plants will remove so much from soil and deposit them in the leaves so dodgy chemicals get in your smokes Well but that's true of virtually every plant. The main downside to tobacco (aside from smoking something that wasn't meant to be inhaled) is the PFAS which is almost entirely due to the chemical reaction of lighting sugar on fire. Again same chemical reaction as in EP IIRC.
Smoking cigars solves a majority of these problems and you can further reduce your risk by growing and drying your own tobacco leaves.
@dcc@PurpCat@SAKURARadiochan@allison That's probably because most people don't smoke cigars these days? Would be interested to see a study on the matter.
There's a study or article I am not finding. Where they found PFAS in the urine of all participants. It's everywhere, in every thing. And that's just PFAS, one factor.
Finally, remember, PFAS are needed for national security so shut up and eat your cancer, peasant.
@realman543@PurpCat@SAKURARadiochan@allison >That's probably because most people don't smoke cigars these days? No its because mouth cancer is harder to get, more people smoke cigars than you think lol.
@dcc@PurpCat@SAKURARadiochan@allison Well that and lung cancer I believe is directly correlated with tar in the lungs if I am not mistaken. If that is the case, no tar (or little, I admit to not doing a scholarly deep dive on the matter) is deposited in the lungs when smoking cigars.
