     Making my own instance was something I was looking forward to so I could personally have control over my user-end experience.
     Isn't that funny? I wanted control of my user-end experience and now look at me.

     I think graf is sort of the admin that fedi needs running the largest instance though, and I think a lot of the shade he gets sort of underscores the point I like to make about poast.
     
     I think it's natural to wind up on poast and think "I belong vaguely here but not exactly here. I can see all of these people Graf doesn't tolerate. I don't know if I'm one of them yet because this is an unfamiliar place, so I need to go to a place I totally know I belong."
     
     It forces you to lurk, scope out the rest of the fediverse, and slot yourself in into the right place for yourself - or to make an instance yourself. That's very good. I don't think it's a good place to be for more than a month or two, but I do think it is a good place for new people to look around and figure out what's up.

     I don't "hate" him either, he just doesn't meet my standards for what I want with an admin.      I genuinely hope he enjoys what that ten dollars will buy him. That man had a friend in me, I was Graf Internet Defense Force whenever, however.

     I don't hate him. I don't have any ill will toward him. But this is a sack of garbage. To hear the so-called "fellow users" I once had camaraderie with snap in lockstep to this and just accept it as okay and make fun of me for a perceived overreaction, is a letdown.

     People always disappoint. I need to remember that.

     Look. I left because I felt like what happened was a grievous breach of my trust. I don't care how many vultures come in to capitalize off it, make fun of me in their little Matrix group chats, or whatever.
     
     But the facts are laid bare. Not once did I say "hey lol you should totally make a thread about it and post account statistics," no matter how many times people will say this is what I said.
     
     That is *wildly* inappropriate behavior from someone who constantly fears external retaliation from groups who find it "funny" to "mess with him."
     
     A precedent has now been set that you can pay money to mess with people and alter their user-end experience, and that's exactly what happened no matter how many people try to cover it up by shouting me down.
     
     I put trust in somebody and I was let down, and blocked when I stated my case calmly and concisely. When I die I would love to have somebody like that as a pallbearer so they can give me the satisfaction of letting me down one last time.
