If you only considered inflation, $1 in 2010 is right about $1.40 today. The entire supply chain has been gouging everyone else down stream for better margins for years. Somebody has to lose eventually.

@HonkHonkBoom @rein @nike @Zoomerman88 me and a friend have been tracking the cost of bacon over the last couple years and it’s legitimately doubled in maybe 3 years. pork is the cheap meat in canada
-
@rein @nike @Zoomerman88 they’re increasing the canadian federal minimum wage to over 17$ soon so my 8$ bacon is now gonna be 10$
-
@nike @Zoomerman88 It's not. Inflation is just higher than what CPI advertises. The costs of producing food have increased as well.

@graf @HonkHonkBoom @rein @nike @Zoomerman88 I remember you talking about this before. I think you do the same thing I do or something similar when you see a good price on something you freeze it and stock up. Down here in the US meat prices are fucking out of control. I keep bargain hunting but it's like they pick shit at random. One month it's beef, then pork, then chicken, etc. So glad I have a nice sized freezer in the garage.

@graf @HonkHonkBoom @rein @nike @Zoomerman88 Yeah there was about a 3 to 4 week period when ribs went on sale super cheap. They weren't the worlds best or anything just basic but the price was stellar. We stocked up on them and are still working our way through em'. Completely worth it though. Every trip to the grocery store feels like you get bent over and fucked lol. It's also made me really appreciate the importance of seasonings for foods; amazing what the right combo can do to make a meal amazing.

@Jim @HonkHonkBoom @rein @nike @Zoomerman88 oh yeah i check flyers every week and stock up. i’ve got enough prime rib roasts i could have a sunday roast dinner every week til winter probably. they went on sale for like 4-5$ each it was wild. reminds me i have to start cooking that shit because it’s been frozen for a year or more lol

@Jim @nike @HonkHonkBoom @Zoomerman88 @graf @rein my freezer paid for itself when my local restaurant supply put bacon on sale for $2 a pound and I bought 50 pounds of the stuff
