     @coolboymew @jeffcliff Given how John McCain was old and in bad health, his choice of VP candidate in 2008 was going to be unusually important, so him choosing a clueless clown simply because she was young and female received a lot of criticism.

     that's the thing : #noagenda does a pretty good job of capturing that. She was a big deal going into the 2008 election, in the early shows, and stayed relevant at least until 2011 where I am at #noagenda300 . She was important enough to be present for the beginning of Trump's campaign

     Of course she was a big deal going in to 2008 - she was the VP candidate. Stayed in the public eye afterwards, quite shrewdly, and rode the tendency for failed candidates who aren't senators to have until the next election cycle in the public eye.
     After that it falls away to nothing unless they run for office again - though in her case her family really didn't help matters!
     She's been pretty irrelevant since 2014 - the world and the Repub voters have moved on.
