@ChristiJunior @TeaTootler @monsterislandcolonizer Even with that, the Boomerang Cross and Holy Water items were still retained as weapons even on the NES and SNES Castlevania games. It wasn't good that the background elements were censored, but that there was still some semblance of a Christian motif anyway was a good sign.

It's also unnecessary, given that there really isn't anything offensive about Christian holy warriors taking up the fight against the supernatural forces of darkness.
