     @daphailwhale there was always puffs puffs joke as far as I'm aware. Unsure on which DQ it started tho'. I think I remember one in DQ2 on Switch?

     @coolboymew It was actually as far back as the first game, but only in the Japanese script - the localizers turned the Puff Puff lady into a tomato merchant (that always seems to be out of tomatoes). I don't think we ever actually got to SEE some variant of it until the series went 3D, though.

     Otherwise yeah, it was censored for sure on the NA release or the translator had no fucking clue what was going on

     @coolboymew NoA handled the NES version's localization themselves, from what I understand - given their policies at the time, it was definitely deliberate censorship.
