   They could have easily confirmed that I own the paypal account any other ways, but that's not very lucrative

     They still could have tested my paypal

Not the first time I've dealt with Microsoft's bullshit on that front and they're almost acting on a Google level of brick walling you if you don't have the exact information and will immediately stop talking to you and offer 0 alternative solutions, like any other smaller companies will attempt. You can't call them, you can't do shit, fuck you
     
     They know damn well that 10+ years old paypal transaction IDs is ridiculous to find and paypal don't provide them this far I believe, and I, as an IT tech, had trouble finding them myself in my inbox for whatever reasons I forget now. Imagine anyone else
