Chasing the dopamine dragon:
a) Stay home all day where it's safe. Get bored out of my mind. Go buy booze. Oops!
b) Go outside. Run into sketchy people. Do impulsive stuff with them. Oops!

@thor@berserker.town that's more or less me with university right now
a) there's my computer where I can sysadmin and chat. completely avoiding the virtual classroom
b) there's my smartphone where I can chat, learn Japanese, and listen to music. also avoiding the virtual classroom
(I'm never going to get to the English teacher career am I?)
@thor@berserker.town I need dopamine and university isn't going to give me that! #ADHD people indeed have it HARD
@thor@berserker.town the thing is I can't and I also don't like offices.
And the only physical exercise I can do is to run until my body gets tired, but the only immediate effects I have with that are ending up taking naps for longer than I usually do....

@yakumo_izuru Completing an education proves one thing above everything else: An ability to sit still and endure tedium for years. That's what an office job is, for the most part, so if you can stomach the education, you can stomach the office job. My theory is that trade work is probably better for people with #ADHD. Using your body produces dopamine.
