     @sevan we use the same PCB/module for the laptop and the standalone keyboard. and you can get them with different keyswitches. so people can mix and match

     @mntmn so say someone has both a reform laptop, and the reform standalone keyboard, and the reform's keyboard breaks. does this mean they could replace the broken laptop keyboard with their standalone by prying the standalone kb module out of its shell, flipping the switch and installing in the laptop?

     @LuukasAhola it's mostly a technical detail. the switch decides how the MCU is powered (by USB or internal laptop standby power)

     Although this has been asked multiple times in this thread, how does the laptop mode differ from the standalone mode? If switched to the laptop mode, does it using an internal connector or would it still rely on USB-C in laptop mode?
