It is entirely plausible that 80% of English is fabricated words made up after 1950, and the derived terms also made up by unverifiable sources. Old English probably didn't even exist, it was just Latin. Nordic runes of proto-English (Something made up as well) is likely the only trace English had to antiquity and linguistic origin, back to Persian.
I probably was born into 1984 and the book was simply a ironic satire of present day, present time (SeLain).
