   I really hate the idea that people are flocking to the fediverse without understanding it or appreciating it for the technical feat it accomplishes via the ActivityPub protocol.
   
   If you're a new user on Poast or NCD, those are just servers apart of a larger decentralized social media network using the protocol. It allows users all different types of software to communicate with each other.
   
   My instance uses a Pleroma fork, but I use this instead and can talk to Poast and NCD all day long without being on those sites, or even my instance for that matter.
