The modern felin character set is pretty well-defined, and I have Opinions on what the felin keyboard would look like (it's not unlike ours but shift doesn't type capital letters (there are none) and there's a trackball where the numpad would go).
However, I don't know what a reasonably realistic felin equivalent of the QWERTY layout would be. I'll need an expert for that... @foone comes to mind.

@kawa I'm not an expert on keyboard layouts, exactly.
But the two schools of thought are basically:
1. it doesn't matter, throw letters where ever. this is the QWERTY school
2. Try to get the most popular keys under the home row.
So, like, if you can generate a key frequency chart, you could try adjusting it that way. Most common keys right under the home row, then next you do the keys above/below f/j, then farther out keys are less common
