Now that they're very cheap, I was thinking of getting a 2012 edition mac mini used from ebay. I want to set it up as a file server on my network and do backups from hard drives to other hard drives. I would also like to use facetime on it.

I know I can use it to serve up files but is there any reason why I would not be able to run facetime (i.e., apple no longer allows old macs to connect to it, etc.)?
