@jana i redid the layout today because we can only light up the top half of the keycap, and also looked up all the glyphs to set it up with a more modern font. it is a bit crowded, but i think readable. acceptable for you?
@mntmn@jana Hi, hey, ho there. Sorry to bother, but *where on Earth did you get these light up Cangjie/zhuyin keys?!* Because I’ve been desirous of this sort of thing with definite need. Are these printed by you and if so, how?
@Shufei@jana i laser engraved them here like our other keyboard layouts (MNT Reform Keyboard). i tried to research and copy the correct glyphs for cangjie, zhuyin and dayi to our inkscape file (see screenshot). but i don't know any chinese, i only know a bit of japanese and kanji, so i may very well have made some mistakes and also am looking for feedback on which of the input systems are actually used the most.
@mntmn@jana It really depends on region, Lang, and preference. For regular Chinese it’s usually Zhuyin, Cangjie. For simplified Chinese, pinyin, Wubi. I know Dayi is getting popular too. To my shame, I mainly use Pinyin+Stroke+radical, handwriting, but have been switching to Wubi for regular Chinese. (Thank you, Ibus!) I’ve also been noodling with some Rime keyboards/tables.
