   The American AC power socket/plug design is atrocious.

     They must be able to be let go at some point, also no one wants to replace the old plugs to new plugs so its all mostly old plugs.

     @dcc@annihilation.social They're just not as safe nor capable as, for example, the UK standard. Worse, however, is that they get clapped out too easily and stop being able to hold a plug or maintain a faulty connection.
