   I have a theory that once upon a time, when "incel" wasn't a thing, you had communities of "socially inept" (possibly Neurodiverse) man-children keeping themselves to themselves. No one "mainstream" knew about them, or bothered with them.
   
   Like D&D players before nerd hobbies became "OMG!!11!! I'm such a nerd lolz" peaking with Critical Role and shit like that.
   
   Suddenly all these "safe spaces" for the social inept and generally disenfranchised started to be gentrified by the popular mainstream, who in turn turn on the existing 'indigenous' nerd-dom in an attempt to exorcise and sanitise as they colonise.
   
   But that's just like my opinion, man
