I'm becoming more ignorant of pop culture, not necessarily by choice but I'm simply not online or in front of a screen enough to know who all these people/things are. People bring up celebrities, singers, athletes, and trends to me and I legit don't know what the fuck they're talking about.

There was the volume war, then it was the same 3 people writing all the top-40 songs, then it was everything run through Pro Tools, Beat Detective, and Auto Tune, and the latest horror is people mumbling through their songs.
Television has been shit because it's the same 20 Los Angeles writers making the same scripts with the same beats and the same quips, and now they have to have inclusion which is a $20 word for saying "brown it up".
Movies have been shit because of much of the same with Television, but with the added bonus of every action movie being filmed live on location in some guy's computer, and with studios meddling to make sure that their $350,000,000 investment gets the maximum return.
Dropping out of mainstream entertainment is the perfectly normal reaction to it all being terrible, ugly, and derivative.Kenny Blankenship and Heavens Feel like this. -
BroDrillard (brodrillard@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Sunday, 25-Feb-2024 02:31:15 JST BroDrillard For me it's intentional. The brief glances I see of pop culture are all garbage. Pop music is niggers with some spiritual niggers sprinkled in. The females are not even hot. How is Lizzo even a thing... seriously? And I don't give a shit about sportsball, so athletes are totally meh. Most of the ones celebrated in the mainstream are niggers anyway. I don't even know who the interesting fighters in the UFC are. All the big old names are long gone. Kenny Blankenship likes this. -

1 "Joy to the World" Three Dog Night
Absolute banger! If you don't like this song, you are a spiritual Jew. *Great*
2. "Maggie May"/"Reason to Believe" Rod Stewart
Absolute banger! Very good example of how to make a song where the harmony leads versus the melody. *Great*
3. "It's Too Late"/"I Feel the Earth Move" Carole King
Very nice jazzy soul with psychedelic influence. I was afraid because Carole King gave me a "painfully gay hippie" premonitions whenever I saw her, but I really enjoyed this song. *Great*
4. "One Bad Apple" The Osmonds
Not the MLP song. Groovy bopping proto-disco soul made by a mayo White boys who were competing with the Jackson 5 but weren't molested and beaten by their father. They actually beat the Jackson 5 with sales this year. *Good*
5. "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" Bee Gees
Back before when the Gibb brothers didn't embrace the gay part of disco and they were doing baroque pop. Decent mellow baroque pop! You really hear the Gibbs capability for singing without their later falsetto disco voices. *Good*
6. "Indian Reservation (The Lament of the Cherokee Reservation Indian)" Paul Revere & The Raiders
Paul Revere & The Raiders were a bubblegum pop/country pop band. The subject matter may seem ZOG-ish, and probably is, which makes this the only "politically bad" song on the list. You could subvert it by making libshit people play by their own rules and show they don't care about bad things happening to people groups, but anything done by or to White. Musically, it's a good baroque blues, using the catchy hook-based writing from their bubblegum pop songs. *Good*
7. "Go Away Little Girl" Donny Osmond
Soppy sugary sop from the "Michael Jackson" of the The Osmonds. Yeah, this isn't the best song by a long shot, but I'd take this a million times above 90% of pop music. *Meh, almost good, and only meh by 70's standards*
8. "Take Me Home, Country Roads" John Denver
Classic country folk from a guy who was not a country star. It makes people not from the Appalachia nostalgic for a place they never been too. It makes people from the Appalachia and the South nostalgic for a place they want to kill and die for and know is being murdered by the usual suspects. *Great*
9. "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)" The Temptations
The first and only all-nigger band or artist on the Top 10. This is one of the greatest R&B/Soul songs ever made.
The lesson here is that under strict social rules, a homogeneously White nation, and with mostly Whites running the music industry, niggers can make good music too. *Great*
10. "Knock Three Times" Tony Orlando and Dawn
Fun bubblegum pop song about innocent teenaged apartment neighbors falling in love. *Good*
5 Great's, 4 Good's, 1 Meh (which is is very good comparing to today's music both pop and underground)
90% Positive, 10% Mediocre, 0% Negative
Turns out, a 90% White, 40% legitimately Christian, and 80% Christian-influenced nation has good tastes.
90% bad my ass! Even niggers were better 50 years ago.
You just have a heavy skill issue with music appreciation and music history. It's far too easy to blaspheme and slander the past to make your own present struggles seem easier and not as bad, than to actually win and conquer your herculean present struggles.
I'm not doing the whole Top 100 today, but a quick look tells me you want to call artists like Jerry Reed, Tom Jones, Paul McCartney, or Bill Withers "garbage", which means fuck you! -

If you said Post-Punk, I might have agreed with you, partially, but you had a few New Wave/Post-Punk bands like Blondie or New Order dabble in disco for fun. Punk itself started (1974) a couple of years before the hey day of disco (1977), and was responding to prog rock and other "softer" rock sub-genres like the little bitch punks they were because Prog Rock and the like wasn't "working class" or "real & raw" enough for them.
Note this doesn't mean I hate punk. I like bands like The Clash or Television, but I hate their hypocritically attitude toward their musical ancestors and contemporaries.Heavens Feel likes this. -

This is a large part of why they push rap and hiphop beyond the cultural reasons. It's more or less impossible for record companies to make money now but they can at least cut production costs by having some nignog talk over a looped background track.
In addition to this, you've always had a push-pull between normgroid tastes and people who actually want something interesting. In the late 70s, you had New Wave and Punk (before it was totally gay) push back against the increasingly bland and implicitly black disco music. Black metal was like this too kinda. Today however I'm afraid that there's some serious structural issues that will make a repeat of this phenomenon harder. There are no irl "scenes" that people can really attend regularly and if there were the hall-monitors would be on them as soon as they got the ball rolling. Also most of the music blogs that made indie rock happen were either buck broken or died off in the mid 2010s. How do you recreate this in a more centralized internet, with a recording industry that knows they crushed a very White, independent music scene before?
tldr music is no longer profitable and we're dealing with the fallout from that.
P.S. The Beatles are categorically not a rock band. -

>mumbling rap
>annoying girlboss tune
>repetitive dance song involving sex
>occasional slow beat + acoustic melody involving some breakup/other couple trash
>more rap with a lazily produced trap beat
>a catchy rock song released that sounds too similar to older (and better) bands
>autotune everywhere
May I remind everybody that these types of artists (and their record labels that manage them) that produce these kinds of music really do not want AI being used against them.Kenny Blankenship likes this.
