Aspartame (aspergtame@clubcyberia.co)'s status on Thursday, 22-Feb-2024 15:51:25 JST Aspartame @MK2boogaloo Oy vey, 50 million Christians killed for what? The Papacy cannot get away with creating 60 million martyrs. If we let Catholics forget the 800 million martyrs, it could happen again! New Janny in Town likes this. -

Also the population of Europe in 1600 was 78.0 million, you'd have to have many instances of entire regions, not countries—regions, depopulated like how the Mongols did to Central Asia for this to be even theoretically possible. Aspartame (aspergtame@clubcyberia.co)'s status on Thursday, 22-Feb-2024 16:02:56 JST Aspartame @MK2boogaloo @wgiwf Luther was kind of retarded to be fair. Like he'd just feel a certain way about something and roll with it even when it got him btfo'd by everyone. It's not until Chemnitz (3rd Generation Lutheran) that you start getting propositions that make sense consistently.
Mostly I'm a Lutheran because it preserves the Western Catholic tradition acceptably I can submit to the Book of Concord in good conscience.
I'll probably go back to Catholic when I move to England though, because all the Protestants in England are GAY with lesbian pastrixes.New Janny in Town likes this. -

Yeah that's your problem there, searching for a good church in England is kinda hard. But here's the thing about debauched land, the amount of fervent Christians are higher that what you would find in a more Christian area. Maybe there's a correlation with this and the persecution. -

Even if I don't agree with everything, no matter where I am in the US, I can at least find a congregation of Christians that isn't a sodomy cult. That barely exists in the UK. Wolfgirl in Wheatfield (wgiwf@poa.st)'s status on Thursday, 22-Feb-2024 16:12:02 JST Wolfgirl in Wheatfield @Aspergtame @MK2boogaloo I've heard that many Anglican churches there are just joining Rome to just have some semblance of normalcy, there's even a rite for them in particular.
Even if I don't really care for Anglicanism, the fact that that church is collapsing isn't good for anyone because many will just stop going all together instead of finding a better one.New Janny in Town likes this. -

Aspartame (aspergtame@clubcyberia.co)'s status on Thursday, 22-Feb-2024 16:18:43 JST Aspartame @wgiwf @MK2boogaloo That’s a complicated thing. When Benedict XVI was Pope, conservative Anglicans begged him for a home in the Catholic Church, but they never expected him to actually accept their request, and when he did, most of them didn’t join, because a lot of those guys can’t actually live up to the moral standards, they illicitly remarry and whatnot.
The Ordinariate technically exists in English speaking countries but it’s very small. Most of the conservatives who simply can’t exist in the mainline will form their own poor irrelevant breakoff groups that are hard to find and have no cultural presence. A lot of them try to latch themselves to Old Catholics but those groups have a lot of problems all on their own. Wandering bishops who will consecrate others with no standards. A lot of them are part of the charismatic and LGBT movements too. It’s not a great association.
