   docker was a scam invented by microsoft's visual studio team because they were mad everyone else was beating them at compilation benchmarks, so they thought they should invent a new type of compiling where you had to install linux before you could run GCC

     even worse idea: docker-gentoo.

     you have to compile all packages before you can use them. every time you build the container

     maybe I do need to custom compile all my packages. then I could stop something from pulling in all of X just because I might use the non-console mode of this one program
