     @nixCraft personally I think software has run its course because it lacks passion. "children" are put in the drivers seat and there's literally no standards they follow because they were given the powers to drive change too soon.

     I saw the profile of a 22 year old CTO last week. think about that. I'm not claiming they can't, but they shouldn't. it would be IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to have gained the life experience for a CTO by 22, and even if they HAD you don't want someone that damaged.

     It's like saying "why are you working if you don't like capitalism?". Yes we rely on C/C++ for many fundamental things but we simply do it because there is no viable alternative. You can't just write a reliable software in a short time. That doesn't mean that language doesn't matter. But for some projects language problems don't outweigh the benefits of years of effort put into it making sure it works good enough.

     @nixCraft Nice straw man! Also, guess what also has been written in C... almost every serious security vulnerability ever. It does make sense to learn C, it just very rarely makes sense to start a _new_ project in C let alone in its mutated abomination sibling, C++.

     @nixCraft And the browser crashes, os have lots of security vulnerabilities, AAA Games crashes (more if you look at EA games), game engines also crash, art tools... I don't use them, but I'm sure, they crash too, audio tools... for sure... Yeah, C is super safe, :-P
