Why even make this appeal? Just using the subway example, stations in NYC used to be beautiful and it didn't come at the cost of "muh democracy"? Certainly, by their own standards, leaving the implied demographic question unanswered is preferable to implying that muh freedoms produce shit infrastructure. This entire narrative is shockingly bad compared to what they used to come up with.
