     I know, but you have to pay attention to how a real comparison works. The snake's vital organs, except kidneys, are found in the first third of it's body and the other 2/3'rds are the digestive tract and muscle. That's how I got the 1:3 leg:tail length or 1:5 human:lamia as a woman's average leg ratio is 45% of her whole body length.
     
     Ironically, the example you gave, mermaids is where I would not do 1:1 with animals. Fish are not structured in a way you can easily attach their "lower" half to a woman's body. A better comparison are aquatic mammals like dolphins and manatees and where their dorsals, median tail, and flukes are located. The main difference between them and regular mermaids and mersharks is that mermaid/shark tails are scaled. Aquatic mammals are not, but you do have dolphin and orca girls, pic related

     @King_Noticer @wgiwf @SuperSnekFriend The way I see it is the rules of creature design applies to monster girls. First there is a ratio between the length of the torso+waist+head : tail that needs to be looked at. Standard species mermaids as an example have an almost 1:1 ratio. So in order to be snake like I would guess its a 1:5 - 1:7 ratio of about 65% of the original characters height, but snek girls are constrictor type snakes for "cuddling" so I would go 1:8 to 1:10.
