   You might’ve heard some news about Apple and the EU and are wondering what “malicious compliance” means so let me try and explain it in simple terms:

   Imagine Tim Cook unzipping his fly and taking a good long piss on @EU_Commission then smirking as he asks “what you gonna do about it, chump?”

   (We wait to see how the European Commission respond after they take a warm shower and dry off.)

     @aral @EU_Commission They are ushering in a new era for tech, don't you see? You clearly lack the sophisticated reasoning skills that can only come from being able to afford expensive and entirely unnecessary hardware.

     @adele @EU_Commission This doesn’t just affect Apple users or Apple’s users in the EU. If Apple breaks offline web apps – which they already did to a great degree four years ago (https://ar.al/2020/03/25/apple-just-killed-offline-web-apps-while-purporting-to-protect-your-privacy-why-thats-a-bad-thing-and-why-you-should-care/) and which this decision will remove the only workaround for – it will mean the end of offline web apps.

     Personally, I’m glad I saw the writing on the wall and changed course back then. That’s why the Small Web is designed as it is.

     @aral @EU_Commission I don't understand the problem. It will impact only Apple's users.
     I don't know how the EU could force Apple to manage web apps.
     When Linux, several years ago, did not manage Flash applets for example. Nobody forced dev to manage them.
     If decide to disable JavaScript in my browser, nobody forces me to enable it
