   I still want to design a keyboard with dual numpads. But bigger keyboards are always harder to design, and that's possibly so big that I can't easily make it single-PCB and definitely can't 3D print a case

     @jsr @foone For true weirdness you could have both types of numpads. One in the phone-style with 1-2-3 as the top row and one in keyboard-style with 7-8-9 as the top row.

     @foone I like my numpad, and I always buy full size keyboards with them, and yeah, sometimes when some infant is saying “why the huge keyboard!?” shit to me, I also want to make a keyboard with dual numpads. And a fucking carry strap, keytar style.

     @humulus Monotype was the major competitor to Linotype, and IMO a much better designed system. (at the very least, it was far safer)

     @PJ_Evans yeah, this is even worse than no compose: It has no shifts, at all.
     So you can't do shift-f to get "F", you have to have a separate alphabet for it!

     When you don't have Unicode and can't compose characters, then you need all those keys. (Italics on the left, normal on the right, and bold? Somewhere?)
