DOTA2 that thing based off League of Legends had a really fun update called "The Dragon's Gift"
What did they add to the game? A bunch of chinese skins but they aren't important;
what matters is what -or who- they removed.

They have collected information on, then VAC banned users of Overplus, a Russian paid multifunction cheat that would:
>Preview who you're playing with before you join a match
>Pull up the enemy team's players' data
>Calculate the best character selection for your team as well suggest what to stop the other team from picking
>Allow you to pick any cosmetic item without paying for it (clientsided)
>Trick your client into thinking it had the actual game's $3.99/month subscription

A cheat that had a predominantly slavic userbase met a banwave that resulted in players dropping out of matches, with reports of 5 man teams going down to a single member (it's a 5v5 game).
The steam discussions (forums) for the game became a salt mine going far enough to have several pages' worth of third world players' bitching.
