   @joostvb Making the process public would add negligible overhead. The default for public money should be public process, auditability, and accountability. The default for organisations distributing public money should be transparency.

     @aral i don't think adding extra publication / reporting / openness requirements on the nlnet/ngi0 funding efforts would lead to something better. it'll add more bean counters and overhead, redirecting the funding away from hackers. my EUR 0,02 . thanks for raising this topic!
