  Attached: 1 image Is this new ? It never happened before. I get the security argument, but this is not going to help federation at all. This is the "default" instance, telling you other instances are not trustworthy. Not surprising considering their track record, but disappointing. This makes no sense too, because the way mastodon works you often have to go to the original instance. Except if you are a large instance of course. 🙄

  @jwildeboer @evan It's a new anti-phishing measure. People do not notice when they leave their own server, and this can be abused by e.g. causing a redirect to a login form.

  @jwildeboer @evan Using "Open original page" or "Copy link to post" circumvents this situation. Problem only arises when sharing URLs meant for logged-in users.
