   Thinking about how most of humanity for most of human history had their own mythologized histories that they cherished and which formed the basis of their identities. Now we aren't allowed to have real-life heroes, only feminized and blacked Marvel goyslop. As the Iranians said, "There is no American equivalent to Soleimani, you can't assassinate Spiderman or Spongebob." Americans are atomized from our history, our historical heroes are constantly ridiculed and deconstructed, so that to even mention them the first thing you hear is "Um, ackshually, George Washington never cut down a cherry tree, and Thomas Jefferson raped Sally Hemings." All we are given is anti-myth meant to ridicule and demonize our forebears. In this we are alienated from our roots, and even our humanity. This is the true brilliance of Putin's Tucker interview.

     @Elliptica Do we even have Johnny Appleseed or Paul Bunyan anymore? Feel like American folklore and mythology have been deliberately replaced since the 1960s or so. Jews deliberately killed off the Western genre in favor of black pandering.

     @ChristiJunior @Elliptica I think the transition started earlier, but that was when it really took off in full. And yes, it really did just come down to a handful of network Jews. In our modern era of Rule by Screens, that's all it takes to reprogram generations.

     @ArdainianRight Well, I went to elementary school in the 2000's, and we learned about Johnny. For whatever reason, the story made a big enough impact on me that I named my first pet, a guinea pig, after him.
     
     But, I don't know if he's talked about now. I get your point, but even if they still talked about him, my point is that as far as characters go, he planted apple trees. That's it. It's silly and purposeless. People like Kit Carson would form the basis of a stronger national myth for the US, but they've torn down all of his monuments already. For that matter, how many people ever even heard his name?

     @Elliptica There's a lot out there way sillier and more purposeless than planting apple trees, but it's also true that actual American heroes like Washington and Jefferson get mocked, denigrated, smeared, and deconstructed as well. We had a budding national mythos that Shlomo's been steadily making war on since the 1960's.

     @ArdainianRight The depths that they've gone to displace or remove Americans from history is astonishing. I've noticed it a lot in the sciences.
     
     One I've found recently is with Edwin Hubble (the person the telescope is named after) who discovered the big bang and the existence of other galaxies. Pretty much all of his achievements have been passed off onto other people, seemingly to minimize him. Einstein's wikipedia page does not bend itself into a pretzel by mentioning other people, despite the fact that someone could do so easily.
     
     Another once prominent America scientist, Robert Millikan, has practically been erased from history because he though tards shouldn't have babies, and wanted to make it easier for families caring for tards to sterilize them. Meanwhile, Paul Ehrenfest literally shot his son for being a tard, and he still has awards named after him.

     @ArdainianRight @Elliptica Can't go wrong with Paul Bunyan and Babe the Great Blue Ox. John Henry is still a good one too especially in the context of the modern age. I'm sure everyone feels a bit of that desire to want to beat the machines and everything they represent.

     @ArdainianRight @Elliptica If I had the talent I'd write about him in the form a modern Aeneid as the leader of the survivors of Atlantis who Poseidon destroyed as punishment for abandoning worship of him for the true God. They settled parts of North America after escaping the destruction of Atlantis, thriving for a time before the chugs at the behest of evil powers eventually destroyed them all except Paul who was cursed by Poseidon to never age and for the hands of the chugs to never harm him, alone in a now hostile continent.
     
     Eventually he met with those who have come over from the Old World, the Irish monks, Vikings, and eventually the first real settlers from Spain and elsewhere, and solidified his grasp on the faith, having spent time in New France and New Spain with missionaries. After a time he began to take part in the newly independent American republic, and shocked by the desire of those in the Constitutional Convention to make a secular state and enfranchise the jews led a movement against its adoption and was murdered by a mob of White Federalists at the behest of jewish merchants.

     @ArdainianRight @Elliptica American folklore honestly has lots of interesting stuff. Side effect of a time when other cultures legitimately tried to integrate into the US rather then what we have now.
     Got some cool mythological characters like the ones I mentioned and Pecos Bill. Lots of iconic ghost stories like Bloody Mary and the Headless Horsemen. New Orleans had a lot of connection with Voodoo, we also inherited some of the Native American stuff, and we're also the land of bigfoot and alien sightings.
     There really is a lot of random stories we have that are fun and spooky and we should probably do more to preserve them in all honesty.
