   @ageha @adiz @birdulon that is beside the point though, people will side with their own ethnic group over some dumb line some guy made a hundred years ago.

     @ageha @birdulon @adiz the real reason was that the mexican government wanted people there because it was mostly depopulated for a couple hundred years and they couldn't hold on to it. so it took immigrants. but it did nothing for them except aggressively collect taxes so people were dissatisfied and sided with the USA again. there were mexican states in rebellion too that were filled with mexicans, the government there sucked
