     @tengumatingpress @Elfie @WashedOutGundamPilot @thebleedingphoenix my first oblivion experience was probably different, because thanks to my previous experience with skyrim, i installed mods like the unofficial patches, stuff for better menus and scalable UI elements, and some other QoL stuff. If you have a telegram account i can give you the zip files that have my whole MO2 portable install for oblivion along with some savegames.
     
     I can also upload them to another place if you wanna give em a go but you'll have to find where i can upload it

     @MischievousTomato @Elfie @WashedOutGundamPilot @thebleedingphoenix Not to sound contrarian, but the 2 hours of Oblivion I played were extremely unpleasant, it was so ugly and felt wrong, I remember feeling very nauseous before dropping it

     @tengumatingpress @Elfie @WashedOutGundamPilot @thebleedingphoenix oblivion is much more fun, both in vanilla and modded. It has a nicer fighting system and the spells are also cooler in the base game. Modded makes it much better as well.
     Fug, I have to download my oblivion files to keep on playing my gaym

     @Elfie @WashedOutGundamPilot @thebleedingphoenix Bethesda's model of making extremely bad, unplaytested games that are very moddable is clever because people will conflate their enjoyment of the mods with the actual game

     @tengumatingpress @Elfie @WashedOutGundamPilot @thebleedingphoenix sorta. for skyrim it's a bit rough. you can make it be mechanically fun, and with more diverse things and such, but the story and vanilla dungeons remain the same boring shit

     Well the audience is not the same for most games
     
     Boomers who like 1, 2 and maybe new Vegas, don't play any more modern title since then
     
     New vegas players are very mod heavy players so they will hop to the latest title just for the modding capabilities like fallout 4 and completely remake them with the power of austism
     
     Fallout 3 soyboys are soyboys and they just drink gallons of Bethesda cum, meaning that they never contradict the studio and CONSOOOM every hot trash they put out
     
     But the only reason the game is relevant isn't the story, it's the mods, because it can update it's meta ad infinitum as long as it's compatible with the operative system

     @thebleedingphoenix I guess there’s long running projects to keep updating and remaking them but like, shit man, I don’t get how these dudes can just buy these games as a kid but still 10 years later continue playing the same things with very minor changes

     @MischievousTomato @tengumatingpress @Elfie @thebleedingphoenix My sole experience with skyrim was when it released and I was at a friend’s house before he said “okay I’ll be gone for a bit” and then just straight up left only to return with Skyrim. I watched him play for like 20 minutes, lost interest, and went home. Since then it just didn’t seem like it’s too fun, aside from the very wide sandbox it provides for modding.
