   People like to say Computer Science isn't real science, but you know at least they don't use the power of the state to ruin the lives of people who disagree with their theories - so it's at least more scientific than medicine.

     @cjd Probably won't help against global AI-driven technocracy but still a nice thing to have I guess. Is it some ancient law that was created for a completely unrelated reason, long before the digital era?

     Did you know that credit scores are illegal in France ?
     If you start a company to manage some kind of "number" for everyone in the country, the state will come in and shut you down - and if they couldn't do that, they would at least prevent any French company from using that number in any way.
