   I'm proud of my country because it's MY COUNTRY. no other reason necessary. In the same way I'm proud of my children. And my culture. And my heritage.

     I suppose one can be proud of one's country in the sense that everyone in it works to make it work the way it does, and you're a part of that. But it's all very circumstantial. It's largely the geography and natural resources that shape the country. You work with what you've got.
