   > The server hosting this webpage uses Apache, PHP and MySQL. Virtually no-one would voluntarily want to create the signal server using these technologies, but since that's what I have to work with it's what I'll do. Sending messages between browsers is dead simple with a persistent process like node, but here we're going to have to stick each message in a MySQL table and ajax-poll for it at the other end.
