Apple really wants that licensing fee from the MFi program. Lightning's protocol is part of that license.

The "Made for" badge indicates that a hardware manufacturer paid Apple for a license for whatever hardware.
Microsoft's doing the same thing for Xbox with the Series and that error numbered "0x82d6000x"cool_boy_mew likes this.
