   The idea of a “hate crime” is so evil. You may commit the same crime as someone else but you get more jail time because you were thinking “mean” thoughts while doing it? And it is only used by the ruling regime to attack people who are critical of it?

     @fatepony It enshrines protected classes into law by drastically increasing the penalties for relatively minor acts against sacred cow demographics.

     If you did that for everyone who attacks, robs, or kills a black person you'd imprison too many blacks for the liking of pro-crime activists, so they only do it to white people defending themselves against black aggression.

     @ArdainianRight @fatepony Some classes especially lower classes need to be protected given how often they are attacked. Anything else is social darwinism.
