@cwtch hello, I'm trying out the Cwtch app for the first time on Linux desktop and can't find out how to create a group. I've read this page: https://docs.cwtch.im/docs/servers/introduction which seems to say I have to add a server to create a group, but the "Add Server" button in the app just takes me to the same place as "Add Contact". The only other relevant button I can find, "Manage Known Servers", takes me to a blank page.
hi! It's a little unclear, and we are currently revamping this, but you can past a server key / group invite into the "Add Contact / Invitation / Key Bundle" input box.
@cwtch I see - I had enabled the group chat experiment but not the server hosting experiment. With both enabled I was able to create a server and group
Awesome - we know this UI is pretty clunky and are actively working on making it better!
For future reference it is also possible to run a standalone server (https://git.openprivacy.ca/cwtch.im/server/) and get a server key that way (some groups also host public cwtch servers and publish details online).
@cwtch But where do I get a server key or group invite? I'm trying to create one. The code it's giving me on this page is the same as my profile address, so I'm sure it's not a group invite.
