@Zealist @RatPoster I have a lot of toys and stuff, but they actually get played with by children. Our generation really lost sight of that. They kept making cool stuff that functions as decoration, but people lost sight of the fact it’s only really fun and worthwhile if you have kids to spend time with.
These days I’m certain that imagination-based play is vital to a well rounded, intelligent adult. Kids are being turned into consumers instead of authors. When we hang out I’ll let the kids play with my models and desk trinkets, it gets them to think about how to make a narrative, how to design logistics and battle plans, and deal with curveballs when our armies go against each other.
Can’t really do that if your wife forces you to get a vasectomy because “there are enough white people in the world”
