   There’s this thing I see with a lot of this side of fedi, where people go out of their way to be as unlikable as possible, and then mald when they get blocked/muted/defederated. They think this is winning.

     @MercurialBlack @meso @NEETzsche the only time I mute people is if they are both obviously mentally I'll AND randomly aggressive for no reason. There's also a special category of users where literally anything and everything they say is for the express purpose of dragging you into a neverending autism vortex where they either cannot or will not correctly interpret anything you say to them.

     The temporary mute feature is great for defusing stupid arguments you just don’t want to be involved in. I’ve used it a few times.

     I know exactly what you mean, and I’ve been calling these vortexes “loops.” Because there’s usually a path to the conversation, but the path leads back to where you started after a while and you just start over again.
