Funny enough, Dreamcast's features would become standard in due time.
DLCs and online play got popular during the 7th console generation, magnetic triggers and sticks (the core reason Dreamcast's controller was so low-maintenance) would recently be rediscovered after ALPS reduced the quality of their actuators...

@camedei456 @coolboymew thats arguably more attributed to xbox. halo 2 was all about the mp, and game updates + general hdd shenanigans were WAY more similar implementations of what we saw in 7th gen (even on wii). arguably all systems listed in OP have online capabilities but xbox live was adopted by much more of its playerbase due to the features and killer apps. the heavy focus on technology for sega, panasonic, and microsoft didnt really help bring sales and only microsoft was able to take what they learned to make a solid 7th gen followup.
