@poopernova ngl I've been able to run a decent amount of hentai games on linux though in all honesty yeah windows is still king for running old japanese moonrune software.
@poopernova but in all honestly I think the steamdeck might become the trojan horse for japanese people since apparently they can't keep steamdeck oleds stocked on shelves in Japan so maybe just maybe japanese devs will consider ensuring that their product will run on linux under proton or wine-ge :awoo_cope:
@Spooke@poopernova they don't even really need to do anything for new games since proton will take care of it. so far i have only seen 1 hentai game which has problems running. all of the non steam old and niche games will hopefully be taken care of by projects like Unified Linux Wine Game Launcher which has the potential to surpass native since they can offer per game fixes
@DarkMahesvara@poopernova you're still going to need people to actually contribute fixes for those hentai games though. At this point in time I have to keep remaking a prefix for a lot of old hentai games because the prefix bricks itself whenever it wants.
@DarkMahesvara@poopernova its more the packages are never up to date on the aur usually and I'm too much of a brainlet to actually make a package build to pack it for archlinux.
@DarkMahesvara@Spooke@poopernova I've been installing a few doujin hentai games on my steam deck using the devkit management tool lately, and so far non of them needed any special commands, except enabling steam play. A few of them use unity iirc, and there are a few with a custom engine. Not a big sample size yet, but I expected more problems.
