If you don't know which sites are clowned and which aren't (all dogshit hosted by Brave is) you're just a larper that has no clue about true privacy and anonymity online.
Duckduckgo is better than those two because at least DDG doesn't clown their shit and makes it unusable if you're connecting through exit nodes, unlike them, also DDG has FEs that do not require js at all to work.
@jihadjimmy first of all talk nicely or I will block u. Second I would be interested in a technical comparison between those two that I can indurstand in simple words
> Because normal people of course have JS disabled. Have you heard of server-side tracking?
"Normal people" are retards, nothing new there. Server side tracking isn't as much of a big deal as client side, specially when there's no malicious code running.
> They 403 IP addresses with high amount of queries, that don't go through the UI, so they in fact block, just not tor exit nodes.
@jihadjimmy@piouzi >There's no js to load, so that's irrelevant. Because normal people of course have JS disabled. Have you heard of server-side tracking?
>Same deal with any other search engine, at least DDG doesn't pester you with enabling js nor blocks connection through exit nodes They 403 IP addresses with high amount of queries, that don't go through the UI, so they in fact block, just not tor exit nodes.
>Good luck tracking without js and through Tor. I forgot you are one of these people. Do you enjoy seeing an endless captcha on almost all sites you visit?
@jihadjimmy@piouzi@phnt Oh yeah I mostly use ddg because it's basically the only one that works on lynx kek (EXCEPT wiby.me, EXTREMELY BASED SITE), so I just try to minimise my searches (or search on specific sites, eg. look for anime on nyaa or mal). Special shout-out to metager.org that does work without any javascript, but somehow manages to completely cock up displaying results without CSS.
@Zerglingman@jihadjimmy@phnt@piouzi It’s all the fancy bullshit. I know this because when my internet is particularly slow and stalls before it completely loads the page everything looks like shit.
@Zerglingman@jihadjimmy@phnt@piouzi That’s what I am saying: it’s the way they’ve configured the page. Might also be scripts, but it seems to work with js disabled so idk.
@anonymous@piouzi@phnt@jihadjimmy Well at a baseline you can't have an element on a page and not have it appear without css or js, and you make an element without js (insert matrix client joke here). Basically, nice try metager, should have just implemented dex instead. https://git.crlf.ninja/crlf/dex
