   Honestly I don't mind businesses actually being contactable in a way that doesn't give them absolute authority over the contact. Hence, fuck FB.

     Friends - don't use the Apps (they will spy on you via the phone). Instead, access Instagram via the web browser. Same w/Facebook. Don't use the APPS!

     No, it's not quite as good of an experience but its good enough for me.

     Until about six months ago....the web browser version had ZERO ads.

     They fixed the glitch and there are ads now (but less targeted).

     They eventually build an ad profile on you based on IG and FB cookies but it's harder for them.

     I quit FB, Instagram November 2020 and have never been back. I dislike businesses using FB on the regular to communicate.

     I sometimes miss the information in homeschool groups, but it’s not worth the absolutely appalling privacy invasion.

     I don't know how it is done... but somehow Instagram and the like can "read thoughts"...

     so, if you talk to your loved one about back pain... all of a sudden solutions to back pain are uploaded onto the Instagram page... usually with products to purchase.

     I am so sick and tired of this trap... this matrix!

     I usually only look at poetry and astronomy on Instagram...

     I loaded Instagram again on my phone this week and logged in.

     Every 3rd or 4th ad was for an adult dating website including uncensored naked pictures of women.

     WTF?

     This is what is being put out to kids.

     Uninstalled it and won't go back.

     A lot of the images and prompts we are seeing on Instagram...etc... are BULLSHIT.

     AI images and prompts...

     I am beginning to REALLY HATE INSTAGRAM!

     It's just a method to draw one in... and capture data...

     your thoughts...

     your impulses...

     your dreams...

     The question is... who truly is your friend...

     Answer: nothing and nobody from the internet.

     Get back to life... back to reality.
