Leftists may try to explain it in terms of social constructionism, but at some level they do understand that people act instinctively in accordance with their identities, so pushing identity politics and getting Republicans to push "based" women and minorities to combat that on some level does cement their power, because even if they don't endorse everything the left does yet, they won't push back too far. It worked with both Sandra Day O'Connor and Barrett. Clarence Thomas not as much, but even in his case I can't see him daring to undo certain Civil Rights stuff.

@ArdainianRight @WeebFirstGames It's honestly shocking how based Thomas has been, from what I've seen only Alito rivals him in terms of genuinely robust conservatism.
I wonder if he was always that good, or if the leftist witch-hunt against him just backfired spectacularly.
Of course, there's pretty much 0% chance that a future GOP-picked black Justice would be half as good.
