   So I learned that the Palword devs, Pocketpair Inc, are JP. Man look at that, they got tricked into adding Body Type A/B into the game :kekw:
   
   Now, it's funny, because the gun additions are also justified with "Americans are doing this thing." But unlike Body Type A/B, it was a lucky choice, because it made the game absurd and hilarious for the better. Their market presence is amplified due to it. A thing done right, for the wrong reason.

     @ryuuji I agree. It's possible one day I might do a "creative vision" type game, but really it's all about making something FUN. I doubt I'd do something super avant garde because I'm a gamer first :kekw:

     @Giganova8 Yeah I'm honestly glad Pocketpair is JP because they gave us some really important admittance (not that we didn't already know). Body Type A/B was never an idea that was reached organically. Male/Female labels are the natural default, there is no need to justify it, it is what we are and what the characters we make are. However, the fact that some average joe JP devs admitted that they only did it because Americans reinforces the idea that it is a forced idea.
     
     Now if the characters ended up looking way better but KEPT the ability to make ugly characters, then that would be an amazing addition to the game. Why people think gamers like us expect character creators to create ONLY gigachads and fertility goddesses is beyond me. Also revert Type A/B, it's still the stain on Elden Ring for me.

     @Cayhr @ryuuji Thats what births the best kind of games. Devs who set out clear goals and try and make something as fun as they can in that idea. Even if it's a mashup up of ideas borrowed from other games, it all cohesive and fun enough to be worth buying.

     @supersid333 Now I do agree that it's not good to fall into just being a trend chaser, but Pocketpair demonstrated that they can both utilize trends AND create something new. Like you said, it's a mash up of borrowed ideas, but that's *perfectly okay*. Many great games are derivatives of multiple progenitors.
     
     Gamefreak on the other hand? Can't say the same for them. Got beaten by an ARK Survival Evolved/Pokemon demon baby WITHOUT ANY PROFESSIONAL SOURCE CONTROL.

     Yep, honestly, this is the ONE CASE I can make an exception for because they revealed their *intent*. This is why I have that saying: "It's all about intent." Every other corpo doesn't reveal WHY they did it, so I have zero incentive to trust them and reward that bullshit.
     
     Reminds me of that Act Man guy. Really lives up to his name, he's just an actor, a fake person. If the labels for Male/Female are so not-important, then why did corporate actors think it was so important to change it? People trying to gaslight me into thinking it's okay to just condone fifth columnist behavior because it's just a label you see only at the beginning of the game. Fuuuuuuuuuck off :kekw:

Ideally they'd have just given us normal characters with normal labels, but this ain't nearly as bad as I thought when I first saw it in game. :shrug:

     @ComfyGuy Yeah, the tranny propaganda is sickening and annoying. I can't wait for their facade of power to be destroyed, as they realize they never had real power and valid ideas, they only wielded existing institutions to strongarm people into their ideology.
     
     From a less political point of view, honestly you can't expect game devs to do everything perfectly. Even the people I'm working with right now are learning on the job, and every single "great" developer has done it as well. Miyazaki from FromSoft has had a lot of on-the-job learning experiences as the company grew larger, and it ripples down to the floor level workers with new engines and tools. The fact that Pocketpair Inc subsidized a shit ton of the flash drive market is also a really funny thing to consider :kekw:
     
     Focus on making a game people enjoy, and you'll succeed. Not many people have this mindset nowadays.

     @smugumin You're right, it doesn't make it any better. From a critical standpoint, Type A/B shouldn't be in there at all to begin with, and the idea to add guns should have been an organic conclusion to make the game absurd (in a fun way). What I was trying to say was that there is additional assurance that no one really takes the idea of Type A/B seriously, and it is only done because of arbitrary industry standards. Therefore, it makes it easier for us to fix once you get a developer with enough balls to just go back to normalcy.

     idk if some discord user's claims really makes it better, they still did a DEI move, and i've still had several people tell me their comments about "A/B body type" on the steam forums got removed. i could huff copium and tell you it must be steam doing it and not the devs, but i just dont know.
     
     for now im still inclined to sail the seas and buy it at 90% discount later :blobpirate:

     @beardalaxy Yeah, version control is a complicated tool and requires some learning on how to use it. That being said, I am quite spoiled on it. However, that doesn't mean version control is without any faults. It sits on your hardware, so additional hardware backups is completely valid.
     
     For small studios, they get by in any way they can. I laugh at the flash drives because I think the idea of people carrying buckets of flash drives like some Vietnamese rice farmer is quite hilarious out of context, but also... at least SOME of it should be version controlled, right? There's a balance you can strike, especially since version controlling is a free utility.

     @Cayhr the flash drives thing is indeed hilarious. I have no idea how git works and I find it really annoying to deal with so every milestone I make on my game I'll zip up the project files and put them on 3 different flash drives and all the drives in my PC. The live version is synced to my Google Drive so if anything ever goes wrong I can grab files from there, or my laptop which is also synced to the drive.

     Maybe a little jank, but it's MY jank.
