     My terrier has a herniated disc now. I spoil him! The German shepherds used to make the trail for him. He was only 6 pounds when I brought him home! That was February 2012. We had tons of snow! Had to grab him by the tail once to prevent him from walking over the fence!😂

     @Zennagain I used to have a little Maltese yorkie mix that loved snow but he was only about 6 or so inches tall so he would disappear and then reappear as he hopped around. Hilarious. All my dogos are bigger these days and can carve a path better than I can with their endless energy.

He didn't attack people but he went after my dog on multiple occasions. Sad because they are good looking dogs but that experience ruined them for me.

     They were bred to run next to carts! They are usually not content to just hang around. The Disney movie got them popular. I do not see very many these days at the vet hospital. Everybody has a Doodle something...

     The neighborhood when I was a kid had a lot of dogs that would kind of roam free. Mine would hang out with me off leash most days. He got along with all the other dogs but that one at the end of the street. The Dalmatian didn't even have any kids to hang out with, and my dog was admittedly kind of a wimp. No idea what breeds he was made of. Basically a pure midsize mutt.

     We had a girl, Bella, and she was a great dog except she never stopped pulling like crazy when on a leash and my father always gave her scraps from the table, and when we had guest she was always begging like crazy when we were eating.
     But besides that a great dog.

     @Wyliesau @Zennagain he was a fantastic dog but he had no distinguishing characteristics of any breeds I know of lol. He had longer fur that shed kind of like my Akita or a husky but he was a dark brown color and maybe his back was around knee height. Pointy ears, straight tail. No idea but he was loved and lived for like 16 years. I cried so much when he died.

     When they die young we feel ripped off. When they live a long time we are more attached! It's never enough! I always tell people that dogs were not created to outlive us. Who would take care of them all? Also gives us a chance to love more of them in our life times. 🤷♂️💕 Working for veterinarians the last 18 years has not made it any easier.

The trick is just make sure she gets her food while I'm feeding the chickens so she's distracted. It leaves them enough time to eat at least haha.
     
     Now with indoor shedding, we have an Akita. Nuff said 🤣

     I was bitten in the face by a German shepherd when I was 5. I still love the breed and am currently on number 6! I have had two or three at once. High maintenance but worth the work.

     @Zennagain @feld @Wyliesau yeah I wouldn't automatically assume a Dalmatian will be an asshole but my experience has led me to believe they have a predisposition for it. I love bigger dogs but I think Dalmatian is kind of at the bottom of the list. I've had more positive interactions with pitbulls, but my son was attacked by one when he was living with his mom.

     @Zennagain @not_br549 @Kennyben @Wyliesau I try to minimize it by spreading the feed out more and laying a bit as scratch for the birds instead of in the bowls, but she can get into just about anything she sets her mind too. I've even seen her squeeze through the chicken coop door (made for chickens) to steal my eggs. Treats and feeding times help but she loves her feed. She is especially fond of dried worms.

     Mostly its just people who don't know what they have and don't know how to handle the "violent breed". Mostly nurture not nature. Any breed can have a screw loose. No one cares about biting Chihuahuas. They can't really kill you. 😁

     There are good ones and bad ones just like dogs, doesn’t matter what bread or race.
